The heart of opsix is nothing less than exponential. Because waveforms can be arranged and modulated in almost infinite ways, it can easily perform sonic work similar to many types of synthesis:
- Subtractive: with up to six envelopes and multi-modelled filters to achieve many classic and avant-garde analogue synthesis sounds.
- Semi-modular: rerouting signals to modify the sound. A trip to the Algorithm section allows you to radically reshape the sound by changing the routing of the signal between operators, without the need for any connecting cables.
- Analog (Modeling): analog-style controls and numerous stackable waveforms let you switch from digital to analog in no time. Enjoy deep bass, accurate tracks, thick pad sounds, fuzzy brass sounds and much more.
- Waveshaping: add intentional distortion to waveforms to create aggressive or inharmonic harmonics. The result is sounds that are gritty, biting and full of character.
- Additive: stacking waveforms and mixing their harmonics is the key to a wide range of harmonic, dissonant and tension-driven sounds. With six operators available, the full FM experience is possible, including the ability to go back in time to classic sounds you've heard throughout recording history.
- Classic FM: opsix's extremely flexible and powerful architecture starts with true six-operator FM. As a result, it easily delivers characteristic sounds you're sure to have heard on thousands of hits from the 80s to today, and with far more polyphony than other standalone FM synths available today.
