Based on the Red Trebler and Red Rooster Booster, the Ruby Booster is a combination of 2 boosters and a buffer. It can therefore be used as a treble booster, a clean boost, an overdrive or any combination of these 3 effects. Inside, there's a selector switch for engaging a high-quality buffer, to avoid the loss of signal and definition associated with the use of long cables or numerous pedals.

With this selector on the right (towards the input), the buffer is activated. On the left, true bypass is activated.
The treble booster is set to carefully selected high frequencies with a special bandwidth and a curve optimised for bass cut-off.
It is controlled by the Treble control and can go up to 15dB.
To use the Ruby Red Booster as a treble booster only, turn the Boost control all the way down, turn the Master control all the way up and then dose with the Treble control.
The boost circuit, controlled by the Boost control, is designed to saturate the amp's inputs and can deliver a very heavy overdrive thanks to its 40dB boost.
The booster is calibrated to produce musical distortion even at high settings.
To use as a booster only, set Treble to minimum, Master to maximum, then dose with Boost.
The Master setting allows you to control the overall volume of the 2 boosters, as well as saturating the pedal.

MASTER: This is a volume control located directly after the boost circuit and when set to maximum is simply a resistor to ground. This control sets the final output and can be used to control the output when the pedal is used for overdrive (boost enabled).
TREBLE: Set the treble boost from zero to around +15dB. The treble frequency and bandwidth are carefully adjusted with an optimised slope.
BOOST: The booster gain can be adjusted from +1 to around +40dB boost. When this control is pushed to maximum, the pedal saturates.
BUFFER: Inside the pedal, there's a switch for a high-quality buffer. You can set the pedal to true bypass mode or Buffer On in bypass mode. It is recommended that you use a Buffer in your signal chain to help the treble and avoid the loss of gain resulting from using many pedals and/or long cables. The pedals are supplied Buffer On.
