Martinez - MC-118S RN + Étui

The MC-118S’s solid European spruce top responds to the pick with immediate clarity in the treble, supported by Indian rosewood sides and back which deepen the bass and extend the sustain. The rosewood bridge transmits the vibration of the strings to the top without restriction. Beneath the natural gloss polyurethane finish, the grain of the rosewood remains visible through the varnish, and the Indian rosewood binding frames the body with a crisp outline. Around the soundhole, an inlaid natural wood mosaic marks the entry of the sound, whilst a maple and ebony purfling highlights the top and a maple purfling alone runs along the back and sides.

The mahogany neck, fitted using a Spanish joint, features a rosewood fingerboard with twenty frets, twelve of which extend unobstructed to the body, with mother-of-pearl markers at the 5th, 7th and 9th frets. The 52 mm bone nut and bone saddle transmit vibration without dampening it. An adjustable two-way truss rod adjusts the neck’s curvature according to the string tension selected.

Right-handed and fitted with Martinez strings, the MC-118S is ideal for traditional classical playing, whether on a quiet stage or in rehearsal.
