Dark grain and spiderweb-like patterns give ziricote a striking visual presence, and on the Martinez Almeria Luthier Ziricote, the ziricote back and sides enhance the richness of the bass and tighten up the midrange. This electro-acoustic classical guitar from the Almeria series retains its natural colour beneath a gloss finish, allowing the grain to run the full length of the body.

The solid spruce top delivers a crisp attack from the very first notes. The mahogany neck feels warm to the touch, with an ebony fingerboard featuring 20 frets. The rosewood bridge transmits the vibration of the strings directly to the top. With a scale length of 650 mm and a nut width of 50 mm, the guitar offers generous spacing between the strings. Its 85 mm sides give the body a depth that supports classical playing.

The cutaway on this flamenco guitar provides easy access to the higher frets whilst maintaining a lively and direct projection. On stage, the Fishman Presys preamp offers volume control and a 3-band equaliser to shape the signal to suit the PA system. The built-in tuner makes tuning easy without the need for external equipment, whilst the notch filter reduces the risk of feedback and the phase switch corrects phase issues. The gig bag protects the instrument whilst on the move. Manufactured in China, this Martinez continues the legacy of a brand founded in Germany in 1978, which has been based in Guangzhou since 2005 with luthier Kenny Hill as technical advisor.
