Scaling up an AV installation often means rethinking the way streams are transported. The MuxLab 500762 TX takes a video compression-based approach to facilitate delivery over wider networks, including beyond a single LAN. Where some AV over IP solutions are bandwidth intensive, this model uses H.264 and H.265 codecs to significantly reduce throughput requirements.

The transmitter supports an input signal up to Full HD 1080p at 60 Hz, which it then encodes and transmits to one or more receivers. Once received, the stream can be upscaled to 4K at 60 Hz on the display side. This approach optimises transport while maintaining compatibility with UHD screens.

One of the major advantages of this solution is its ability to go beyond a closed network. The stream can be broadcast over a traditional local network, but also via WiFi or the Internet, opening the way to distributed installations on several sites. This makes it ideally suited to environments such as digital signage, connected meeting rooms and remote broadcasting systems.

The system also supports different streaming methods such as Multicast, RTSP, RTMP or HLS, making it easy to integrate into existing infrastructures. Latency, generally associated with this type of compression, remains under control with a low latency mode of around 200 ms in H.265.

In addition to video, the 500762 TX allows audio insertion and can be integrated into configurations including video walls and multiview displays. RS232 and IR control functions enable remote control of equipment, while PoE power supply simplifies installation.
