Native Instruments - Massive XL Update for Massive X (licence)

With Massive XL, Native Instruments is taking preset creation to the next level thanks to a generator capable of converting an audio reference into a playable preset, with built-in stem separation. This feature for creating presets from an audio file makes it easier to explore sounds, even without in-depth knowledge of synthesis.

The sound library has been expanded with over 100 new wave tables and over 100 new noise tables, drawn in particular from vintage sounds, the original Massive and analogue samples. Custom sample import also allows you to create timbre palettes specific to each project, enabling you to develop deep basslines, grainy textures or evolving pads using this virtual wavetable synthesiser.

The Mutator and Randomiser tools offer several ways to refresh a preset without always having to start from scratch, by modifying parameters in a guided manner or by randomising certain modules. Native Instruments has included the Morpher and Animator functions, which allow you to work on sonic variations and expressive movements, with transitions that can be played back and transferred between presets. This approach to electronic sound design encourages controlled experimentation, leaving room for serendipitous discoveries whilst maintaining control over the settings.

Massive XL supports polyphonic aftertouch on compatible controllers, allowing each note to be modulated individually for a more expressive performance. Animated modulators display their movements in real time, whilst movable envelope handles simplify the editing of curves in this MIDI keyboard software synthesiser.

This update maintains compatibility with Massive X presets and Expansions, making it easy to continue working on existing projects. The comprehensive edit history allows you to revert to a specific previous state, whilst the organisation into custom banks helps you categorise sounds by project, musical genre or client. Compatible with VST, VST3, AU and AAX formats, the software integrates with digital audio workstations that support these formats.
