Inspired by a Japanese analogue synthesiser from 1984, the UVX80 virtual instrument (downloadable licence) from UVI offers a collection designed to recreate its distinctive sounds in a modern instrument. Its 252 presets cover basses, leads, atmospheric textures, effects, bells and strings, with navigation by type to help you quickly find a starting point.
The two-layer architecture allows you to layer sounds and create evolving textures. Each layer features its own multimode filter, ADSR envelopes, pitch, portamento, a stereo section, an arpeggiator and modulation wheel assignments. An LFO and a 16-step modulator provide additional control over amplitude and the filter.
The effects section adds drive, chorus, phaser, delay and reverb. UVX80 thus allows you to start with the supplied presets, combine them, and then edit them to build sounds tailored to your musical creations and personal arrangements.
