The Novation FLkey Mini doesn't just look good on a home studio desk. Optimised for FL Studio, it acts as a tactile remote control for your patterns, tracks, plug-ins... In short, everything you're used to clicking with the mouse is controlled here by hand, between the 16 velocity-sensitive pads, the 8 assignable pots and the navigation buttons. Novation goes so far as to deliver a plug & play experience that lets you get straight to composing without having to digest a Pink Floyd-length manual.
In terms of design, the FLkey Mini remains true to the Novation spirit: sober, functional and calibrated for mobility. Its ultra-compact size (330mm wide and weighing in at 690g) does not detract from its robust construction and ergonomics designed for impatient fingers. The sustain pedal input and physical MIDI output make it easy to integrate into a hybrid setup. It also comes with a host of software for creating, sampling, tweaking or even just playing (it happens). Enough to make your desktop computer seriously question its usefulness in the room.
And because good news never comes alone, this pack includes the upgrade version of Komplete 15 Standard from Native Instruments. If you already own Komplete Select, get ready to step into another dimension of sound. With 95 high-end instruments and effects, 50,000 sounds and 50 sound expansions, this bundle has clearly been designed for producers who refuse to choose between quality, quantity and diversity. All styles are covered, from Berlin techno to Hollywood-style orchestral layers.
Installation is via Native Access, with a download of over 100 GB - that's a lot more than a Sunday brunch. But the wait is well worth it. You'll find classic Native Instruments (Massive X, Kontakt 8, Guitar Rig 7 Pro), sumptuous acoustic pianos, cinematic drums, experimental synths, and even a few sonic curiosities ideal for your Sunday creative wanderings.
