The SmartRig+ is a compact 2-channel audio interface that lets you connect any combination of mics, guitars, or instruments to DSLRs and video cameras, as well as iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches, and Android devices with a 3.5mm TRRS headphone jack. It’s ultra-portable and lightweight, and dramatically improves the sound quality of the videos you shoot. It also lets you create broadcast-quality audio recordings on your mobile device for podcasting and newsgathering. Plus, you can use powerful music-making apps to their full potential by connecting real instruments and professional mics to your mobile device.

The SmartRig+ has 2 x 3 different types of inputs: XLR, 6.35 mm jack and 3.5 mm mini jack.
All inputs remain active and you can use 4 at the same time.
The XLR inputs can feed condenser microphones with +48 volts phantom power, allowing you to use almost any type of microphone. The 6.35 mm jack inputs are impedance matched to provide the best sound quality for electric guitars, basses and electro acoustic instruments.
A mono/stereo switch allows you to choose how the channels will be mixed when connected to a camera or mobile device.
When set to Mono, whatever you plug in will be recorded on both channels of the camera or mobile device.
The Mono setting is useful when you only plug in one microphone, as the audio will be recorded on both channels of the camera or mobile device. The Stereo setting is useful when you connect two microphones or instruments, as both channels will be recorded as independent tracks.
This gives you better editing options in post-production.
If you record video on your smartphone, you can connect professional shotgun and lavalier microphones to dramatically improve your audio quality.
Built-in preamps provide clear audio, and if your camera doesn't have a headphone output, you can use the SmartRig+'s jack.
