The OB-6 from Dave Smith Instruments is a 6-voice, all-analogue synthesizer module in desktop form, inspired by Tom Oberheim's classic SEM circuits of the 1970s.
Oberheim's original SEM (Synthesizer Expansion Module) was at the heart of Oberheim's famous 4-voice and 8-voice synths of the 1970s. The SEM, in its current form, is also the heart of the OB-6 analogue sound engine. The all-analogue signal path is completed by the OB-6's voltage-controlled amplifiers.
Tom and Dave have packed the OB-6 with everything you could wish for... With two voltage-controlled oscillators and one secondary oscillator per voice, a state-dependent variable filter, a 64-step polyphonic step sequencer, two digital effects engines, and more, Dave Smith Instruments OB-6 delivers powerful, punchy sounds that will take your music to new heights.
