The OB-6 from Dave Smith Instruments is a 6-voice, all-analogue synthesiser with 49 keys, inspired by Tom Oberheim's classic SEM circuits of the 1970s.
Oberheim's original Synthesizer Expansion Module (SEM) was at the heart of Oberheim's famous 4-voice and 8-voice synths of the 1970s. The SEM, in its current form, is also the heart of the OB-6 analogue sound engine. The all-analogue signal path is completed by the OB-6's voltage-controlled amplifiers.
Tom and Dave have packed the OB-6 with everything you could wish for... With two voltage-controlled oscillators and one secondary oscillator per voice, a state-dependent variable filter, a 64-step polyphonic step sequencer, two digital effects engines, and more, Dave Smith Instruments OB-6 delivers powerful, punchy sounds that will take your music to new heights.
To control all this firepower, you get a top panel with one button per function, and a flexible, semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keyboard with aftertouch. From funky, heavy basses to beautifully celestial ambiences, the OB6 will make your synth dreams come true.
