Sequential - Fourm
The Sequential Fourm brings together the sonic heritage of the legendary Prophet-5 and the energy of a contemporary instrument that exudes inventiveness. Designed as a stage or studio companion, it packs rare expressiveness into a format that's anything but ordinary. Each key reacts with an almost organic vivacity, transforming the slightest intention into malleable, subtle sound material. Its personality combines vintage warmth with the incisive bite of a creative engine capable of bouncing back at the speed of your ideas. Fourm is a bridge between memory and invention, a playground where every gesture becomes a colour and every nuance a movement. Sequential has created an instrument designed for textural explorers, calibrated for immediate inspiration and straightforward sonic journeys, with that little extra soul that makes all the difference when the lights go out.
Presentation
Its 4 polyphonic voices are based on a 100% analogue architecture, directly inspired by the Prophet-5, and this historical link is not limited to a simple wink, but is embodied in the precision of the envelopes and the dynamics of the 4-pole resonant low-pass filter, enhanced by bass compensation. In the past, this technical detail changed the way bass took its place in a mix; today, it changes your relationship with sound, and tomorrow it will change the density of your creations, because you can count on a warm, nervous and consistent sound.
Each Sequential Fourm voice has 2 oscillators capable of generating several waveforms simultaneously, and oscillator B can even be transformed into an LFO to introduce moving, almost unpredictable modulations. As you route these sources through the matrix on the front panel, you can compose live textures that didn't exist the second before, and you could, by simple intuition, produce an atmospheric carpet, a trembling bass or a moving layer without ever interrupting your creative flow.
The Sequential Fourm's modulation matrix, inherited from the Pro-One, has been placed on the front panel so that you can interact with your ideas without going through menus or screens. So you can link a source to a destination with a simple gesture, immediately visualise your diagram thanks to the colour codes, and imagine sound paths that take shape almost like a mental map. Yesterday, this kind of configuration would have taken several minutes on another instrument, but today it only takes a few seconds to trigger daring combinations and feed your inspiration without ever lifting a finger.
Sequential Fourm's built-in arpeggiator and sequencer mode opens up a playground that reinvents itself with every measure. You could record a repetitive pattern and transform it into a hypnotic structure, or use the step-by-step glide to draw out more sinuous phrases, and each time the instrument leads you back to new rhythmic possibilities. With 128 programmable memories, you can save your discoveries and recall them in an instant, whether you're in the middle of a rehearsal or in the silence of the studio, ready to restart the creative machine.
The Sequential Fourm's feedback circuit adds extra character, almost like an organic saturation that densifies your timbres. You can play with this reserve of raw energy like you would a spark capable of igniting an entire mix. This detail, combined with the independent ADSR envelopes and the freedom offered by the oscillators, creates a sonic palette where every technical nuance has an immediate impact on your expression. And when you come back to an old programme, you'll find this material with the same intensity, as if nothing has been erased by time.

When we talk about the Sequential Fourm, we're also talking about a community of musicians who use this instrument to tell their own sonic stories. Some see it as a formidable live performance tool, others as a masterpiece for composing in the studio, but they all share the feeling of having an instrument that truly dialogues with their intentions. By choosing Sequential, you join a world where tradition and innovation meet, and where each note played becomes a personal trace in a long musical conversation that continues to reinvent itself.
Like any instrument designed to last, the Sequential Fourm deserves worthy companions. You might consider a set of high-quality audio cables to preserve the purity of its analogue signal, a stable stand to keep your synth within easy reach, or a good padded case to protect it when you're on the move. These accessories extend the experience by making your day-to-day life more fluid, and they help keep the machine ready to respond at a moment's notice to your most unexpected sonic ideas.
