The Scarlet & Scourge pickups have been specially designed to build on his use of high-gain amplifier technology. With his model amp delivering the perfect saturated sound sought by Periphery, Mark's new pickups aim to offer improved clarity for complex tunings, split coils and drop tunings.
After rigorous testing, Mark and the Seymour Duncan engineering team created the Scarlet neck and Scourge bridge pickups.
The Scarlet neck pickup, like Mark's signature Alpha pickup, features a ceramic magnet, but its output has been calibrated to deliver optimum note definition in clean and mid-gain applications.
The Scourge pickup, meanwhile, is fitted with an Alnico 8 magnet, giving it the focused bass and midrange needed to anchor Mark's modern sound.
