The Scarlet & Scourge pickups have been specially designed to draw inspiration from his use of high-gain amplification technology.
With his amp offering the perfect saturated sound that Periphery was looking for, Mark's new pickups needed to offer increased clarity for complex tunings, split coils and drop tunings.
After rigorous testing, Mark and the engineering team at Seymour Duncan created the Scarlet neck and Scourge bridge pickups.
The Scarlet neck pickup, like Mark's signature Alpha pickup, features a ceramic magnet, but its output has been calibrated to deliver optimum note definition in clean and medium-gain applications.
The Scourge pickup, meanwhile, is fitted with an Alnico 8 magnet, giving it the focused bass and midrange that are essential for anchoring Mark's modern sound.
