If you're looking for a bridge pickup that doesn't turn your seven-string into a sonic mush as soon as you plug in the distortion, the Seymour Duncan NGL R 7STR, from the Nazgûl Sentient Rail series, is the answer. Its acoustic signature is tailor-made for metal in all its forms, from old-school thrash to technical modern death.

The secret lies in two things. First, the magnetic rail that runs the full width of the pickup. No more imbalance between the high and low strings. The uniform rail articulation ensures that each note, even on a saturated low chord, retains its own identity. Then there's the Alnico 8 magnet. More bite than an Alnico 5, more warmth than a ceramic. The sharp highs cut through rhythms, the precise midrange puts the sound front and centre, and the defined bass ensures a kick-drum attack at every palm mute.

The 4-conductor cabling opens up a host of configuration possibilities: splittable for surprisingly clean tones, or daisy-chained for maximum power. The wide harmonic range feeds solos without ever making them strident. The sustain is massive, ready to string pinch harmonics together.
