The Seymour Duncan Alternative 8 Floor Custom Yellow is a passive bridge mic designed to deliver high output and a strong presence in the mix. It features an Alnico 8 magnet, unique in the Seymour Duncan range. This particular configuration combines several magnetic characteristics in a single pickup.
The treble retains the smoothness and musicality of an Alnico 2. The midrange benefits from an emphasis comparable to that of an Alnico 5. The power reserve is reminiscent of the impact of a ceramic magnet. Combined with a high-efficiency winding and a 17.90 kΩ resistor, the result is a dense, punchy sound.
Attacks remain clean without becoming strident. Riffs retain definition even at high levels of saturation. Solos benefit from generous sustain and good projection. The Trembucker format ensures optimum string alignment on guitars with a wide vibrato. Its 4-conductor wiring allows a variety of mounting options, including coil splitting.
