SPL's Gainstation 1 is a hybrid single-channel microphone and tube preamp with transistors. Today more than ever, your input signal should sound the best you can, and the end result will be determined by the quality of your recorded tracks. It is important to tackle this problem as soon as it is preamplified, in order to have a sound and quality signal from the start. With a good input signal, there is less of a tendency to equalize and compress the sound, and any processing becomes superfluous. Instruments, Voices, everything you connect to SPL's Gain Station 1, will take on considerable breadth and quality.

Discrete operational amps mounted in class A to outlaw the use of universal components manufactured industrially. The GainStation's operational amps work at 60 V instead of the usual 30 V, ensuring a much higher dynamic range.

Note: GainStation 1 can be ordered with or without an AN conversion card. The user will not be able to add the conversion card himself and will not have to pass SPL or an authorized technical center. However, the mounting of the digital option is achievable by the user on all other SPL products.
