The SPL GoldMike MK2 is a 2-channel hybrid lamp / transistor hybrid mic / instrument preamp. It combines stages of transistor and lamp preamplifiers, to take advantage of all the technological and sound benefits: the efficiency and the low noise of a discrete transistor stage, enriched by the warm and musical coloration of a stage with lamp. The transistor stage consists of simple Class A transistors. The circuits are totally discrete and each transistor is fully optimized for its specific task. What struck the technicians of Sonovente at the first listening of this preamp, it is the cleanliness of the sound, and the direction of the detail.
