The Apollo Twin DUO USB Heritage Edition is a high-end audio interface designed for PC users who want Universal Audio studio quality in a compact, robust format. It combines world-renowned 24-bit / 192 kHz conversion with UAD-2 DUO Core processing, capable of running analogue emulation plug-ins in real time without using up your computer's power.
With its two Unison™ preamps, the Apollo Twin USB captures the authentic character of legendary tube preamps, guitar amps or effects pedals, retaining original gain, impedance and saturation detail. The high-impedance front-panel instrument input ensures optimum pick-up for guitar or bass, while the two line outputs, headphone output and two monitor outputs ensure faithful reproduction of your mixes.
The Apollo Twin USB also features an integrated talkback microphone, handy for communicating in the booth or guiding a live session, and a full set of monitoring controls: mute, dim, mono, speaker selection, all within easy reach via the large central rotary knob.
The ADAT/S/PDIF optical input allows you to extend the interface's capabilities to up to 10 simultaneous inputs, by adding external digital preamps. Whether you're recording vocals, instruments or producing entirely in your DAW, this interface offers the versatility and precision required for quality projects.
Supplied with a generous selection of premium plug-ins (Pultec EQs, 1176, LA-2A, Ampeg, Marshall Plexi...), it gives you access to Universal Audio's signature sound right from the first session, without any additional purchase. La carte Apollo Twin X est sans aucun doute d'une qualité sonore et de conception indéniable, un peu complexe à utiliser avec la table de mixage virtuelle mais les émulations de préampli à lampes font vraiment la différence par rapport à la Focusrite que j'utilisais avant.
Le seul point faible que je pourrait lui trouver n'est pas d'un point de vue sonore ou de conception mais juste le fameux câble usb pour la brancher qui a été une galère à trouver car c'est un câble spécial, superspeed, ce qui n'est indiqué nulle part quand on achète l'Apollo (j'ai dû me renseigner sur la page Facebook d'UAD pour en avoir connaissance, merci pour leur réactivité!). Je trouve que pour le prix, Universal Audio pourrait se fendre de mettre ce câble à 5 € avec l'Apollo, cela me semblerai être la moindre des choses!
