Wampler - Cory Wong Compressor/Boost

The Wampler Cory Wong Compressor & Boost is a signature pedal developed with Cory Wong, designed as a complete tool for managing both dynamics and output level. It combines a compressor and a boost circuit in a single box, with two independent footswitches for direct control.

The compression section offers the essential volume, sustain, attack, tone and blend controls. The blend control allows the compressed signal to be mixed with the original signal, making it easier to achieve a balance between dynamic control and natural playability. The attack control influences the transient response, while the tone control adjusts the brightness of the signal.

The boost section features a level control and a mode switch. This switch lets you choose between a linear boost or a boost with midrange emphasis, centred around 550 Hz. This function allows you to adapt the behaviour of the signal according to the context, whether to stand out in a mix or to add presence.

A "Comp On" switch keeps the compression active at all times, making it easy to use live. The pedal also features a balanced XLR output for direct connection to an audio interface, console or broadcast system. There's also a ground lift to limit unwanted noise.
