Wampler - Tumnus Overdrive

The Wampler Tumnus Overdrive builds on a circuit that has become a benchmark in overdrive pedals, offering a compact, affordable version. Designed by Brian Wampler, it delivers both a slight boost and progressive saturation, depending on the setting applied.

The gain control allows you to switch between slight signal enrichment and more pronounced saturation. The level knob adjusts the output volume, allowing the pedal to be used as a boost to drive an amp or other effect. The treble control adjusts the treble response to balance the signal according to the equipment used.

The Tumnus can be used at various points in the audio chain. Upstream, it thickens the signal before a gain section. At the end of the chain, it can be used to bring out a solo or increase the overall level.

Its compact size makes it easy to fit onto a pedalboard. It operates from a 9V power supply and has a buffered bypass, so the signal can be retained over long effects chains.
