Wampler - Plexi Drive Deluxe Overdrive/Boost

The Wampler Plexi Drive Deluxe Overdrive/Boost takes the Plexi Drive circuit and adds more advanced tuning tools to offer more precise control of the signal. The aim is still to create a British amp sound, with dynamic response and progressive saturation.

The gain control covers a range from a light crunch to denser saturation. This base is complemented by an active three-band EQ, which allows bass, midrange and treble to be adjusted separately. This type of control offers finer adaptation to the amp, cabinet or guitar being used.

A Bass Boost switch reinforces the lower end of the spectrum, simulating a fuller response, similar to that of a large cabinet. A second Bright switch acts on the high frequencies to adjust the clarity of the signal, depending in particular on the character of the instrument.

The pedal also features an independent pre-gain boost, accessible via a dedicated footswitch. This circuit acts upstream of the overdrive and increases the input level, modifying the saturation response and bringing the midrange more to the fore.

Thanks to its top-mounted connectors and customised format, it's easy to fit on a pedalboard. It can be used as the main overdrive, as an additional gain stage or as a signal shaping tool.
