The sE Electronics sE7 Matched Pair takes the basics of the sE7 and adapts them to the needs of stereo miking. The two microphones are matched at the factory to ensure consistency of frequency response and sensitivity, providing a stable and reliable stereo image right from the outset.

In an overhead recording context, this pair makes it possible to reproduce a drum kit with good definition of the cymbals and a balanced overall image. On a piano, it makes it easier to capture the nuances and width of the instrument, with a homogeneous response between the two channels. The same applies to acoustic ensembles or ambient recordings, where coherence between the two microphones plays an essential role.

The small-diaphragm electret capsule reacts quickly to transients, allowing the attack of sources to be retained without distortion. The result is clean and clear, with detailed highs without harshness and well-defined midrange. This approach is particularly suited to acoustic instruments, but also to configurations requiring faithful reproduction without excessive coloration.

Each microphone has a -20dB pad for handling high levels, as well as a low-cut filter at 80Hz. These two functions make it easy to adapt the pair to different contexts, whether for close miking, powerful sources or environments where low frequencies need to be controlled.
