Golden Age Audio - FC3

The Golden Age Audio FC3 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed as a truly versatile tool, capable of adapting to a wide range of professional recording situations. Inspired by classic studio microphones, it produces a natural, balanced sound that can be used without artifice, for both recording and broadcasting.

Its design is based on a double 28 mm pressure gradient capsule, gold-plated and mounted on an internal shock mount, to reduce mechanical vibrations and ensure optimum signal stability.

This capsule provides access to three switchable polar patterns: cardioid for voice pick-ups and isolated sources, omnidirectional for ambient or open pick-ups, and figure-8 for stereo configurations, face-to-face pick-ups or Mid/Side applications. Each mode naturally influences the frequency response, proximity effect and width of the sound image, offering true artistic control.

The electronic stage is based on a discrete Class A topology combined with a low-noise input FET, guaranteeing rapid response to transients and comfortable dynamics. With a noise level of just 17 dB(A) and a permissible sound pressure level of up to 140 dB SPL, the FC3 can be used with vocals, acoustic instruments and amplifiers, as well as overhead or ambient drum mics.

External switches activate a low-cut filter to limit vibration and hum, and an attenuator to handle high-level sources. The solid brass body ensures rigidity and durability, while the supplied suspension makes it easy to integrate immediately into a studio environment.
