The Yamaha CXR12 MK3 bundle is designed for those who wish to build a sound system centred around a power amplifier. The two 12" passive speakers are equally suitable for front-of-house and monitor applications. Their bass-reflex design makes them suitable for a wide range of performances, from concerts to professional events. This format fits easily into both portable and fixed installations.

Each speaker has an impedance of 8 Ω and can handle 275 W RMS, with a maximum peak power of 1100 W. Yamaha recommends a 550 W RMS amplifier at 8 Ω to power them. The 12" driver is paired with a 1-inch compression driver. The frequency response ranges from 50 Hz to 20 kHz with a crossover frequency of 1.9 kHz.

The horizontal dispersion of 90° and vertical dispersion of 60° help to distribute the sound evenly across the listening area. The two parallel-mounted SpeakON NL4MP connectors simplify connection to an external amplifier. The polypropylene cabinet is designed to withstand repeated handling during set-up and dismantling. The Ø35 mm mounting sockets allow for either upright or -7° tilted installation, depending on the configuration.

When floor-mounted, the speakers are angled at 52° to serve as stage monitors. The M10 and M8 suspension points provide additional installation options where required. Yamaha offers a warranty of up to 7 years on this set, provided the products are registered on its website within 6 months of purchase.
