The Yamaha CXR15 MK3 set is designed for set-ups where a passive loudspeaker capable of delivering more low-end punch is required. The two 15" loudspeakers are powered by an external amplifier, allowing them to be integrated into existing systems or bespoke installations. Their bass-reflex design makes them suitable for a wide variety of applications, from live performances to professional events. The 15" size naturally provides a more substantial sound than more compact models.

Each speaker operates at 8 Ω with a power handling capacity of 300 W RMS and a peak power of 1200 W. Yamaha recommends a 600 W RMS amplifier at 8 Ω to fully realise their potential. The 15" driver is paired with a 1" compression driver for high-frequency reproduction. The frequency response ranges from 50 Hz to 20 kHz with a crossover frequency of 1.8 kHz.

Sound dispersion is provided by a horizontal coverage of 90° and a vertical coverage of 60°, ensuring uniform coverage across the listening area. The parallel SpeakON NL4MP connectors facilitate daisy-chain or distribution cabling depending on the installation. The polypropylene enclosure is designed to withstand regular movement and repeated installation. The Ø35 mm mounting sockets allow for stand mounting with a tilt of up to -7°.

The 52° angle also allows for use as a monitor when the speakers are placed on the floor. The M10 and M8 suspension points offer several mounting options for fixed installations. Finally, Yamaha provides a warranty of up to 7 years for this set, subject to the products being registered on its website within 6 months of purchase.
