Allen & Heath - Qu-7
A concentrate of digital power: Allen & Heath's Qu-7 combines intuitive workflow, DEEP processing and a modern touchscreen interface in a compact format designed for stage and installation.
Presentation
The preamp section has been completely redesigned, offering +60dB gain adjustable in 1dB steps, with very low harmonic distortion. On-board audio processing includes parametric EQ, compressors, gates, high-pass filters and delays, available on all channels. Everything is controlled via a fast, intuitive 7" touchscreen interface, designed for technicians who want to mix without having to go through complicated sub-menus.
The Qu-7 offers flexible recording: 32 XLR/jack inputs, two stereo line inputs, USB-A, USB-C and SD ports for multi-track recording (up to 32 tracks), and AES3 output. Thanks to USB-C, the console connects easily to a computer for studio sessions or live streaming, while supporting 96 kHz audio and DAW control.
Connectivity is a strong point of this console. With the SLink port, the Qu-7 communicates with Allen & Heath stageboxes to form a system expandable to 128x128 channels. The Qu-7D version adds a 16x16 Dante interface for frictionless integration into professional audio networks.
In terms of tools, the Qu-7 incorporates DEEP Processing inherited from the dLive system, as well as an automated gain assistant and an intelligent anti-feedback system. It also includes a 32-channel AMM (Automatic Mic Mixer), perfect for conferences or live events with several open mics. No external plug-ins are required, everything is integrated without adding latency.
Designed for touring sound engineers, places of worship, theatres or event providers, this compact console offers a rare balance between processing power, interface flexibility and field reliability. Its ability to evolve makes it a durable investment for modern configurations.
