Black Lion Audio - Auteur MKIII Preamp

The Black Lion Auteur MKII is a dual-channel mic preamplifier designed for compact studios and mobile set-ups that don't want to compromise on sound.

Inspired by Black Lion's years of preamp modifications, this model continues the tradition of versatile machines capable of adapting to almost any recording situation.

The input circuit is based on a modern integrated circuit topology, designed for fast and accurate response, perfect for capturing the subtlest transients and the smallest details.

The output is a completely different story: Black Lion has integrated a Cinemag transformer that adds density and a nice grain in the low mids, with just the right amount of colour to round out the sources without ever drowning them out.

Each channel has an XLR input for microphones, as well as a 6.35 mm jack line or instrument input on the front panel, with independent switching. So you can connect static or dynamic microphones as well as synths, guitars or basses, with or without DI.

48V phantom power, a -10dB pad, polarity inversion and gain of up to 62dB are available on each channel, offering complete control whatever the source.

Designed for hybrid configurations, the Auteur MKII comes in a robust half-rack chassis, with removable brackets for easy integration into a 1U rack. Whether it's for vocals, percussion, guitars, or even stereo keyboard plugs, it adapts to all styles of work.
