Black Lion Audio - Auteur Quad Preamp

The Black Lion Auteur Quad is a 4-channel, 1U rackmount version of the acclaimed Auteur MK2 preamp. Sought after for its ability to capture sources in excellent detail without sacrificing warmth, it combines an ultra-fast IC-based input with Edcor output transformers.

This combination preserves the full transparency of the signal while adding a slight analogue coloration, much appreciated on vocals, percussion or electric instruments.

Designed as a versatile and affordable version, the Auteur Quad includes features inspired by the 500 series format, including front-panel instrument inputs on the first two channels. This makes it easy to pick up bass, guitars or synths directly, while taking advantage of the circuit's own harmonic character.

Each channel has its own polarity inverter, switchable phantom power and pad for adapting to any situation. With 65dB of gain, it's powerful enough to handle dynamic or ribbon microphones at low output levels.

Another practical addition: LED level indicators on all 4 channels for quick visual indication of signal activity, a welcome addition for monitoring recordings.
