A full-bodied attack and a warm, woody harmonic richness are the hallmarks of the D’Angelico Deluxe Brighton Solid Black, a solid-body double-cutaway guitar that responds with authority under the fingers. The alder body (336.55 mm wide, 41.28 mm deep) produces a warm, organic tone, whilst the black gloss finish highlights the multiple purfling on the seven-ply body.
The three-piece neck, set into the body (set neck), features a C-shaped profile that tapers from 20 mm at the first fret to 22 mm at the twelfth — a grip that supports your playing without restricting it. The ebony fingerboard, with a radius of 355.6 mm, features 22 Jescar 47/104 nickel-silver frets for smooth and precise gliding, adorned with Split Block mother-of-pearl and abalone inlays. The 42.86 mm Tusq nut ensures the accuracy of open chords, supported by a double-action truss rod and an aluminium Skyscraper plate. The 628.65 mm scale length tightens the tension of the D’Angelico Electrozinc 10-46 strings, delivering a crisp attack without harshness.
Two Seymour Duncan Seth Lover A4 humbuckers, featuring Alnico IV magnets and four-conductor wiring, with gold-plated covers, produce woody harmonics and generous dynamic range across volume controls, push/pull tone controls and a three-position selector switch, all on 500 kΩ potentiometers. The gold-plated Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece anchor every note with precision, the Grover 509 locking tuners stabilise the tuning, and the gold-plated locking strap buttons ensure secure playing whilst standing. With a five-ply tortoiseshell F-hole pickguard, a tortoiseshell backplate and ebony knobs, this Deluxe Brighton – made in Korea and weighing 6.69 kg – is equally at home in rock and blues, and comes with its DABRICASE hard case.
