D'Angelico - Deluxe SS Baritone Satin Trans Wine

The Trans Wine red stretches like satin across the laminated mahogany top, a deep hue that already hints at the low register this instrument is about to explore. Here, D’Angelico pushes the usual boundaries of the electric guitar: the 679.45 mm scale length gives the strings a tension typical of the baritone range—somewhere between a bass and a standard six-string—where every chord gains in richness without losing articulation.
Beneath the satin finish, the semi-hollow body with a central block of laminated mahogany channels internal resonances whilst preserving the pickups’ attack. The three-piece neck, a maple-walnut-maple laminate set into the body (Set Neck), spans twenty-two Jescar nickel-silver frets to an ebony fingerboard with a radius of 406.4 mm — featuring Split Block mother-of-pearl inlays, triple binding, ensuring a clear feel of the neck under the fingers.
The two Seymour Duncan D’Angelico Great Dane P-90 pickups, with cream-coloured covers, share the three-position selector switch and 500 kΩ potentiometers: the neck pickup delivers a velvety tone, the bridge pickup a biting edge. A gold-plated Tune-O-Matic bridge, Stairstep tailpiece, and Grover 509 locking tuners — the hardware as a whole holds the low notes firmly without any wobble.
Ebony adjustment knobs, lockable strap pins, D’Addario EXL157 strings in 14-68 already fitted: the instrument arrives ready for the studio or the stage, stored in its Deluxe hard case. Eleven kilos of presence, built for the riff that takes you where the guitar leaves off.
