The EMG 58 Black pickup isn't trying to please everyone. It's got character. Inspired by the P-90, it's bursting with heat and bite. The alnico V gives it plenty of power and the steel bars channel the attack. It's fat, dense and above all expressive.
Plugged into a tube amp, the grain comes alive. Harmonics come out naturally, even in palm mute. There's no need to boost: the mic is already sending out a signal. It stays clean, even at full gain.
Installation takes ten minutes. No iron, no soldering. Everything clips on: cables, pots, jack, bus, battery. It's designed for people who want to play, not tinker.
The humbucker format complies with Tune-O-Matic standards. The 49mm spacing and short axle are ideal for Strat-type mounts. The black colour is sober and unobtrusive. It weighs in at just 115g.
