Expressive E - Osmose 61 CE + Soliste

The Expressive E Osmose 61 CE + Soliste forms a system designed around a single concept: transforming every movement of the musician into musical information. The Osmose 61 CE keyboard offers three-dimensional control, allowing individual notes to be modulated through touch, lateral movements, pitch variations and release. This MPE approach thus allows different notes within the same chord to evolve independently, with a level of precision impossible to achieve with a traditional MIDI keyboard.

With its 61 full-size keys, the Osmose offers more scope for melodic playing, extended chords and arrangements requiring a wider range. Built-in features such as the MPE arpeggiator, Pressure Glide, the eight preset-associated macros, and the pitch and modulation controllers allow you to create particularly dynamic performances without interrupting your playing.

The keyboard comes with Ctrl-e and over 900 expressive presets, as well as direct integration with leading music production environments. The DAW control functions also allow you to manage various software operations directly from the instrument, whilst the two pedal inputs offer additional possibilities for enriching your performances.

The Soliste suite complements the Osmose with four solo string instruments based on physical modelling: violin, viola, cello and double bass. Unlike a simple sample library, its engine is designed to reproduce the behaviour of a string instrument and respond continuously to variations in playing style. When used with an MPE keyboard, it allows you to independently control dynamics, vibrato, portamento and various bowing characteristics for each note.

Soliste offers several interpretative approaches through its Classic Mode, Virtuoso Mode and Expressive Bow Mode, as well as a range of articulations accessible in real time. Pizzicato, sul ponticello, Bartók, staccato, tremolo, sustain and various legato variations allow the performance to be adapted to contexts as varied as orchestral composition, film music or live performance.

The combination of the two products is particularly effective in situations where expressiveness must remain directly at the fingertips. Movements made on the Osmose can thus be translated into immediate musical variations in Soliste, offering a more organic approach to writing string parts and sound design.
