Jackson Audio has reproduced this circuit in minute detail to deliver the sound that people are looking for from this legendary pedal. Like the original circuit, the OD1 channel is designed with virtually impossible-to-find germanium diodes, carefully selected to give you the best possible sound.
Channel OD2 is diametrically opposed to the midrange sound of channel OD1.
Designed to be perfectly neutral across all guitar frequencies, the OD2 is perfect for rhythm work and is also a superb harmonic enhancer for the OD1 channel when you want to boost the OD1 even more.
Based on the legendary Baxandall EQ found in countless studios, The Optimist's EQ adapts this circuit for guitarists to work on the guitarist's own frequencies to smooth them out by removing the high and low frequencies that can be ear-weary at extreme settings.
The Optimist also features MIDI control for all its functions.
Channels OD1 and OD2 as well as EQ can all be controlled via MIDI.
