The Jet Guitars JS-450 Transparent Black hides nothing. The Transparent Black finish allows the flame pattern of the flamed maple top to show through – a natural grain that gives each instrument its own unique visual character. Underneath, the basswood body holds its own: light on the scales, neutral in the spectrum, it doesn’t colour the signal — it lets it speak for itself.
Where the Brown version relied on rosewood, the JS-450 Black derives its uniqueness from a less common choice of materials: a neck and fingerboard made from torrefied Canadian maple. A single piece of wood from the nut to the top frets, heat-treated to harden its fibres and stabilise its moisture content. The result: a more articulate attack, a crisper mid-range, and a playing surface with a slightly frosted feel that instantly sticks to your fingers. The Modern C profile and 9.5" radius do the rest — neither too flat for chords nor too arched for playing in position.
The 1.65" (41.9 mm) nut width positions the strings at a spacing that suits both dense rhythm work and lead lines. The 22 frets, the Wilkinson vibrato with precise return, and the chrome self-locking tuners round off a package with no weak points. The bone nut — or polymer fibre depending on the model — and the 1 volume / 1 tone controls keep the signal chain clean. Stage, studio, rehearsal: this guitar doesn’t choose, it just gets on with it.
