Electric Guitar Effects

Re-creation of the 1973 Tonebender MKIII. The original model, with its 3 germanium transistors, had a distinctive sound and tons of mojo, but it was fussy and didn't always do what was expected of it. JHS wanted to replicate the sound of this pedal by making it more stable and easy to build. The result is a pedal that gives you the touch, feel and response of a vintage germanium fuzz but with the precision and stability of carefully selected silicon transistors.

The Tone control produces bright or dark tones, making the Bender a great match for different types of guitars and amps.
The Attack setting controls saturation for extra fuzz.
On the side is a Mode button that gives access to a JHS mode with more gain and a midrange boost to make your solo stand out from the mix.
With more Attack in this mode, you get a bit of noise reduction depending on the attack of your playing.
If you like the fuzz sounds of Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, The Beatles, Mick Ronson (David Bowie) and My Bloody Valentine, then the Bender is for you!

In April 1965, a new product changed rock & roll forever.
From the workshops of Macari's Musical Exchange in London's Denmark Street, Gary Hurst invented the Tonebender Sola Sound fuzz.

Starting with the US Maestro Fuzz Tone of 1962, Gary expanded on what fuzz could do and gave a new sound to the burgeoning London scene. From its first prototype in a simple wooden box (April 1965) to the many other official versions of the Sola Sound, such as the MKI (September 1965), the MK2 (mid 1966), the MK3/MK4 (February 1970), etc., the Tonebender evolved just like the music it helped to create.
