In addition to his musical career, Marcus Miller is involved in humanitarian and cultural projects. In 2013, he was appointed UNESCO Artist for Peace. In this role, he is involved in raising awareness of slavery and promoting cultural dialogue. He is also composing the music for the UNESCO-supported project "The Slave Route". Marcus Miller sees music as a universal language capable of bringing people together. At numerous conferences and educational concerts, he encourages young musicians to discover different musical cultures. His commitment goes well beyond the realms of entertainment, and demonstrates his interest in historical and social issues.
