To find out more...
Marcus Miller was born on 14 June 1959 in Brooklyn, New York. A multi-instrumentalist, he is best known as one of the greatest electric bassists in the history of jazz fusion. He began playing clarinet as a child before turning to bass. In the 1980s, he became a studio musician in great demand, collaborating with many major artists. His style blends funk, jazz, soul and R&B with great technical virtuosity. Marcus Miller is particularly famous for his slap playing, his sense of groove and his ability to compose powerful, melodic bass lines.
