To find out more...
Marcus Miller was born on 14 June 1959 in Brooklyn, in the heart of New York City. He grew up in a family deeply rooted in music: his father was a church organist and choirmaster. From an early age, he learned several instruments, including the clarinet, which would remain an important part of his musical identity. Even before becoming a benchmark on the electric bass, he developed an exceptional ear and a sensitivity for arranging. This initial versatility explains his future ability to navigate between jazz, funk, soul and film music with remarkable ease.
