Classical Guitar 4/4

Martinez Master Monaco S + Case MARTINEZ positions the Master Monaco S at the crossroads of French classical guitar and artisan craftsmanship, finished with a hand-applied workshop varnish. The solid European spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back produce a rich bass and a clear treble.

ARTICLE N° 126297
The Master Monaco S by MARTINEZ is built on a body made entirely of solid wood, with no veneer to conceal the grain. The solid European spruce top delivers dense bass and crisp treble right to the end of the string.

The back and sides, crafted from solid Indian rosewood, contain the bass tones within the instrument; this dense wood ensures the bass is kept in reserve. The ebony binding creates a crisp outline around the top. The mahogany neck features a solid ebony fingerboard where the strings glide smoothly, whilst the double-action truss rod maintains the neck’s alignment whatever the room temperature.

The bone nut and saddle, mounted on a rosewood bridge, transmit the vibration without filtering it. The gold-finished MG3 tuning machines hold the tuning tight, and the MS300 nylon strings provide a soft attack under the fingers. The French varnish allows the grain of the solid wood to show through.

The 647.70 mm scale length and 52 mm nut width maintain the spacing required for the classical repertoire, from the Concierto de Aranjuez to Sor’s études. Built in 4/4 size for right-handed guitarists, the Master Monaco S travels in its supplied hard case, from the conservatoire to the stage.

Martinez has its roots in the tradition of classical violin-making, with German origins dating back to 1978. The brand subsequently incorporated the expertise of Kenneth Hill, an American luthier associated with its high-end ranges. The Monaco S exemplifies this approach with a construction made entirely from solid wood: spruce for the top, Indian rosewood for the back and sides, and ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. This combination draws on choices rooted in the classical European tradition. Production currently takes place in China, with quality control based on methods developed by the brand.
