Martinez’s identity is largely based on the classical guitar and an international approach to its manufacture. The Guangzhou-based company works with specialists from a range of luthier traditions.

Kenny Hill, a renowned American luthier, joined the company as a technical adviser in the mid-2000s. Links with Wolfgang Jellinghaus further reinforce the brand’s European heritage. A Chinese corporate document dedicated to the company states that it manufactures and distributes classical and acoustic guitars, and has a commercial presence in over 50 countries.

This combination of European heritage, American expertise and Chinese production is one of Martinez’s defining features.
