end help users navigate the music library of 21GB, Ethno 2 lets you navigate by geographic region or by category of instrument, or using a new search function. The user enters an instrument name or phrase and all presets with that text in their name instantly appear in the browser list. Just click on it to listen to the sounds without having to close the browser, which allows a quick preview of sounds before loading them into separate parts. Ethno Version 2 now allows you to use an unlimited number of Units: so users can quickly build ensembles of instrument sounds, loops and phrases, without imposing limits on the size of these sets.

Ethno 2 gives access to a rich and exotic world of agreements and non-Western lines. The user can navigate through the presets of dozens of non-tempered agreements from around the world, classified by region of the world or by scale type, and then play microtonal any extent (5 to 24 tons) from any any standard MIDI controller. The microtonal presets were developed by a world expert in the field of micro-agreements; they comply with open standard Scala file (.scl) on micro-agreements. Ethno users can thus go to the Scala website, http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/, navigate from thousands of micro-agreement files, download, and then add them to Ethno 2, as user presets by simple Drag / Drop. These microtonal can be applied at will to any instrument presets, allowing users to try and apply microtonal worldwide to instrument sounds from around the world: for example, play according to a range of Thai origin Celtic harp sound from Ireland ...

Since its marketing, Ethno has been recognized and appreciated for its powerful tempo adaptation functions. When used as plug-ins, loops are always played in time with each other and the current tempo in the host application. Version 2 extends these time-stretching capabilities through the application of a very high quality audio processing technology developed by IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique-Musique in Paris) and licensed . The user can speed up, slow down, and align tempos of loops and phrases with sound quality unparalleled even by imposing extreme changes in tempo, in one way or another. Time stretching presets are available for various types of sounds (voice, percussion, etc.) to optimize treatment and to maintain excellent sound quality, regardless of the tempo.

Other highlights of the Ethno Version 2 include are:

Effects and improved treatments - the software includes new modeled analog EQ, a convolution reverb optimized in terms of CPU, and 8 new analog modeled filters (with resonance, comb filter, analog feel, etc.).

Keyswitch presets - dozens of new presets keyswitch (KS), with superimposed textures of great wealth, in all categories, for even greater expressiveness.

Compatibility with version 1 - sound library included with the Ethno 2 is compatible with version 1, so you can load with version 2 pieces programmed with version 2 presets.

Audio engine last generation UVI Engine - provides excellent performance with virtual instruments, with a native 64-bit operation and proven compatibility with the latest versions of Mac OS X and Windows operating systems and audio workstation software + MIDI hosts.
