Novastar - NS60 5m

The automatic brightness control of an LED screen relies first and foremost on a reliable measurement of ambient light. The NovaStar NS60 5 m light sensor, part number NS060-5A, performs this function precisely by detecting ambient light levels and transmitting this information to the NovaStar system responsible for controlling the display. The brightness of the LED wall can therefore adjust to the conditions surrounding the installation rather than remaining fixed at a single value.

With a measurement range of 0 to 65,535 lux, the sensor covers both dimly lit environments and situations with high outdoor light levels. The 5-metre cable allows the measurement point to be positioned away from the board or controller to which it is connected. This arrangement is important to ensure that the light measured is the same as that actually present in front of the screen. The cable can also be extended up to 100 metres depending on the installation configuration.

The NS060-5A operates on a 5 V DC power supply provided by the compatible equipment and does not require an external power supply unit. NovaStar intends it to be used with various driver cards, asynchronous cards and multifunction cards, notably the MSD300, MSD600, MCTRL300, MCTRL600, PSD100 and MFN300, depending on the supported generations and configurations.
