Novastar - MSD-300-1

The NovaStar MSD-300-1 is a transmission card that forms part of a range of transmission cards designed to provide the link between a video source and an LED screen. It receives content displayed by a computer via its Single Link DVI input, processes the data required for transmission, and then distributes it to the receiver cards installed in the display.

With a maximum capacity of 1.3 million pixels, the MSD-300-1 is suitable for medium-sized LED displays. The width and height of the input signal can be set by the user to adapt the processing to the actual dimensions of the display. The card does not have a dedicated scaling function: its role remains focused on acquiring the signal and routing it to the LED system.

It can be integrated directly into a computer via its PCI interface, but the MSD-300-1 can also be used in stand-alone mode. This dual capability allows it to be adapted to different control architectures, particularly when the computer serves as the starting point for video streaming or when the card needs to operate independently of a PCI configuration.

An additional input is provided for a NovaStar light sensor. When paired with a compatible sensor, this interface enables the system to detect changes in ambient light levels and automatically adjust the brightness of the LED screen. This feature can be particularly useful for displays installed in environments where lighting conditions change throughout the day.
