Novastar - Taurus TB-50

For small to medium-sized LED screens, the Novastar Taurus TB-50 combines several functions that would otherwise be spread across different pieces of equipment. It handles both the playback of content and the processing required for its display, with a control capacity of up to 1.3 million pixels. This all-in-one architecture makes it possible, in particular, to deploy a standalone screen whose content can be prepared and updated remotely.

The TB-50 features an internal media player and 16 GB of storage, allowing media intended for display to be stored directly on the device. Files can be transferred via the network or USB, and then played back without the need for a computer to remain permanently connected. The built-in scaling function also adapts content to the display’s configuration, whilst the HDMI 1.4a input allows the use of an external video source.

The networking capabilities are another key feature of the device. A Gigabit Ethernet connection is complemented by Wi-Fi with AP and STA modes. The Novastar Taurus TB-50 can also be fitted with an optional 4G module for installations requiring a mobile connection. This connectivity enables the display to be configured and monitored from a computer or mobile device, notably using NovaLCT, ViPlex Express, ViPlex Handy or VNNOX.

Two Ethernet outputs are available for distributing data to the LED screen. These can be used as primary outputs or as a backup, providing additional security for data transmission. The TB-50 also features two connections for light and temperature sensors, enabling the incorporation of environmental data from the display’s surroundings.

Control is therefore not limited to playing media. The Taurus platform also allows the system status to be monitored, operational data to be logged and certain incidents to be managed automatically. The combination of a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, integrated storage and a full network connection gives the TB-50 true autonomy for display devices that need to be managed remotely.
