Roland - Roland Cloud JUNO-60
The Roland JUNO-60 helped define the sound of the 80s and is highly prized for its vintage ambience and uniqueness. Simply put, it's the sound you hear in your head when you think of big, punchy analog synthesizers. With the JUNO-60 Software Synthesizer, you get the full, authentic experience of this legendary keyboard in a modern software instrument.
Presentation
The JUNO-60 was one of the first models in Roland's famous JUNO range, and is still a favourite of many synth fans of all eras. Released in 1982 as a replacement for the JUNO-6, it enhanced the features of its predecessor with the then-rare ability to save patches. It was the next-generation JUNO-106 that popularised the JUNO name, but it's the JUNO-60, with its characteristic Hi-Fi fatness and punch, that remains favoured by musicians and producers the world over.
What is a JUNO?
The JUNO formula consists of a single DCO, a fat sub-oscillator and a characteristic VCF, plus, of course, a massive swirling chorus, to form sounds you can't help but love. This incredibly simple architecture, combined with intuitive operation, made creating great sounds effortless. Tried, tested and heard on countless tracks over the decades, Roland's JUNO sound has transcended its status as a simple synthesizer to become a JUNO.
Ultra-realistic sound
In the decades since the original JUNO-60 was released, we've continued our cutting-edge research into the science of sound and synthesis. Our proprietary ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) technology is the engine behind the amazingly accurate sound of the JUNO-60 Software Synthesizer, as well as other Legendary plug-ins. It features precise modelling of the original analogue circuitry of our cult instruments to produce a sound so realistic it'll give you goose bumps.
More to love.
In designing the JUNO-60 Software Synthesizer, we felt it was important not to stray too far from the magic and balance of the original, including its quirky sounds and endearing limitations. But we couldn't resist adding a few modern touches by increasing the range of the oscillator and adding a second envelope for a little more flexibility. It's still a JUNO-60, but with a twist.

The enormous influence of filters on the sound of a synthesiser cannot be overstated. Roland filters are well known for having a lot of character, and the JUNO-60's is a prime example. You could apply all sorts of adjectives to this sound - sweet, fat, juicy - and you wouldn't be wrong. The JUNO-60 Software Synthesiser models the original filter perfectly, and even offers the option of switching to the JUNO-106's HPF circuit, with its characteristic bass inequalities.
Chorus heaven. And much more besides.
A large part of the JUNO sound comes from its incredibly rich chorus circuit. Like the original, the software version has a choice of two chorus modes, plus a third 'secret' mode accessible by pressing both buttons at the same time. This behaviour is modelled in detail, as is the inherent noise that most JUNO fans consider to be part of its charm. And to take things even further, we've added another Chorus option with the classic BOSS CE-1 pedal, as well as a selection of beautiful Reverb, Delay, Flanger and Overdrive effects.
Endless sounds.
Our expert sound designers have packed the JUNO-60 Software Synthesizer with a host of ready-to-mix preset sounds. From basses to leads, pads to tones, you'll find a treasure trove of powerful, evocative sounds to inspire you and help you create tracks quickly.
Beyond the software.
The JUNO-60 is also PLUG-OUT compatible, allowing advanced operation with Roland's physical SYSTEM-8 synthesizer. Its parameters are automatically mapped to the SYSTEM-8 controllers to give you a complete JUNO-60 that you can use on stage without a computer. Alternatively, you can use SYSTEM-8 or Roland's JU-06 and JU-06A Boutique for manual control of the JUNO-60 plug-in.
