The SH-101 Software Synthesizer is an ultra-detailed replica of Roland's famous SH-101. Powered by advanced circuit modelling, this plug-in perfectly recreates the analogue sounds of the original instrument that has shaped so many styles of electronic music.

Presentation
The look and sound of the SH-101 proved that big things could be achieved with a small instrument, and it was the tool of choice for some of the world's most prominent artists. It was later rediscovered by a new generation of electronic musicians and producers who used it to lay the foundations of house, techno and other emerging styles. To this day, the SH-101's vibrant bass and inimitable lead sounds continue to be sought after by electronic artists the world over.
The SH-101 is also PLUG-OUT compatible, allowing full use from Roland physical instruments such as the SH-01A, SYSTEM-8, SYSTEM-1 or SYSTEM-1m. You can then manage the plug-in using physical controllers, or play it on stage without the need for a computer.

Released in 1982, the SH-101 was designed to be portable at a reasonable price. Compared to the many complex synths available at the time, it offered a basic monophonic structure and a distinctive sound, quick to program and capable of delivering bright, sharp tones and exciting sound effects. And with a choice of grey, blue and red knobs, battery operation and Keytar mode playability, this modest but flashy monophonic synth won over visionary musicians who wanted to redefine the image of the keyboardist on stage.
