Presentation
Some microphones have a remarkable sonic personality, but their output level can sometimes put a strain on a preamp. The SE Electronics DM1 Dynamite has been designed precisely to solve this problem. This active in-line preamplifier is placed directly between the microphone and the mic input of your interface or console to boost the signal level while maintaining a perfectly neutral output.
The principle is simple: the DM1 Dynamite provides a constant gain of +28 dB, making it possible to fully exploit dynamic microphones or passive ribbon microphones whose output level is often lower. Thanks to its dedicated buffer amplifier, this gain remains stable whatever the load connected. The result is a signal that is more powerful and more usable by your preamp, without degrading sound quality.
The electronic design is based on a transformerless Class-A circuit combined with carefully selected FETs. This architecture considerably reduces background noise while maintaining a transparent sound. The DM1 Dynamite makes no attempt to colour the signal. Its role is simply to give more level to the microphone in order to preserve the dynamics and precision of the sound captured.
Another advantage of this design is the particularly low output impedance. This allows the DM1 to feed long cable runs while limiting signal loss and interference. In a studio, on stage or in a podcast configuration, this feature helps to maintain a clean signal even in electrically complex environments.
