Preamps
The Triton Audio FetHead Phantom is an in-line preamp designed for condenser microphones, providing up to +18dB of clean gain while retaining phantom power to the mic. It allows you to exploit the full dynamic range of the signal without pushing the main preamp too far and without degrading the signal-to-noise ratio.

Presentation
In certain configurations, particularly with compact interfaces or portable recorders, the integrated preamp can quickly reach its limits when it comes to handling a condenser microphone. The FetHead Phantom fits into this chain to provide extra gain upstream, with a simple, straightforward approach.
Unlike other boosters designed for dynamic or ribbon microphones, this version has been specifically developed for condenser microphones. It retains the phantom power necessary for their operation, while adding its own gain at the microphone output. This makes it possible to recover a more usable signal without having to push the main preamp into a zone where noise becomes more prevalent.
This is particularly useful in mobile or lightweight configurations. On a portable recorder, camera or small interface, the FetHead Phantom acts as an extension of the existing preamp. The signal gains in level, but above all in legibility, with better management of details and nuances. This approach allows you to keep your recording clean, even in situations where the margins for adjustment are limited.
The design is based on Class A FET architecture, chosen for its ability to amplify without excessive coloration. The signal remains faithful to the source, without adding any marked character, making it equally well suited to vocals and to recording acoustic or ambient instruments.
In terms of integration, the format remains identical to that of the FetHead series, with a compact body that connects directly to XLR. There's no need for adjustment, just phantom power to operate the circuit and power the microphone simultaneously. The whole system can be easily integrated into an existing chain, without changing working habits.
