The HD-B-S Hades Gates Set Black is a set of Billy Gibbons signature passive humbucking pickups, designed for guitarists looking to reproduce the signature sound of the 1959 Les Paul from the famous ZZ Top guitarist. This set includes a neck pickup (~8.06 kΩ) and a bridge pickup (~8.90 kΩ), offering perfect tone distribution for each position.
The pickups are fitted with Alnico II magnets, giving them warm mids, round bass and clear highs, while retaining excellent responsiveness to touch. The slightly higher output level than that of the Pearly Gates produces a powerful, dynamic sound, ideal for incisive solos and blues-rock, classic rock or hard rock rhythms.
These humbuckers have 4-conductor wiring, so you can split the coils or change their connection in series or parallel, to easily vary the sound. The Hades Gates retains the vintage character while providing a higher output level, allowing every note to remain clear and musical.
